Job Description

Pope John Paul II Academy in Montrose, Colorado is searching for a 6th Grade Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year. Candidates should be active, faithful Catholics who have a heart for serving the mission of Catholic education. Teacher licensure/state certification is not a requirement. The academy has small class sizes, and teacher mentoring and professional development are offered. Basic Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic who is committed to teaching within the tradition of the Catholic Faith.
• A love for working with children.
• Strong classroom management.
• Ability to differentiate instruction according to varying learning styles and levels.
• Professional, organized, and punctual.
• Strong oral and writing communication skills.
• Team player, naturally building healthy, professional relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Pedagogical virtues of patience, clarity, and kindness.
• Knowledge and love for the Catholic Faith and its tradition of academic excellence.
• Experience in education is preferred but not required (teacher licensure is not required).
