Our client, who provides quick and secure access to working capital for businesses looking for growth and expansion opportunities is seeking a self-starter, highly motivated and experienced individual with experience in the financial services sector to join our team as the Accounting Manager. The Client provides liquidity through merchant cash advances, commercial loans and invoice purchasing to our commercial clients in need of funding for their business. As an experienced finance professional, you bring the ability to build a strong team as accounting services are currently outsourced, you are capable of clear communications especially with Senior Management and other business areas, you thrive to contribute as a business partner who not only understands the underlying accounting but also is willing to understand our products and services.
This financial position plays a key role in devising the company's immediate, mid, and long-range strategic operational processes, implementing technical accounting standards, and identifying and implementing a sound technical accounting infrastructure.
Job Overview: As a Finance leader, you will be responsible for the financial reporting and accounting functions of our financial services firm as it relates to people, processes, and technologies. You will assist the Chief Accounting Officer to lead the accounting team and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. You will work closely with other departments, including the executive team, to provide strategic financial insights and analysis to drive business decisions.
Must haves:
Daily accounting operations and consolidation of financial statements.
Strong managerial experience.
Must be able to roll up your sleeves.
Key Responsibilities:
-Build, manage and oversee the accounting department, including the month end financial close process and financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
-Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and other financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for a private entity.
-Monthly intercompany account review/reconciliations and elimination.
-Develop, enhance and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
-Prepare and analyze financial statements and financial data to provide meaningful insights to the CFO and the executive team and other stakeholders.
-Manage the review of revenue database ensuring accuracy of information.
-Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support for strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, and other business opportunities when they arise.
-Manage relationships with external auditors.
-Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for the accounting team.
-Stay up to date with new accounting and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the company.
-Ensuring that general ledger accounting complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) best practices
-Continue to strengthen and design financial controls
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or post graduate degree with CPA or equivalent certification.
-7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. The qualifications and experience to create GAAP financial statements.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead a team and drive results.
-Experience with financial systems and software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
-Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced but not burdensome environment.

Compensation: Up to 150k plus Bonus and all Benefits. Four days in office.
