Assistant Project Manager - Structural Steel (95% Travel, USA) - Commercial Projects
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Project Manager with a background in structural steel to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction projects . Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in overseeing commercial structural steel construction projects from start to finish.
Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and project specifications to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
Monitor daily construction activities and address any issues that may arise on-site.
Track project progress, document updates, and report to senior management.
Ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations at all project locations.
Assist with procurement, scheduling, and logistical planning for materials and equipment.
Communicate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
Strong background in structural steel and commercial construction processes.
Willing and able to travel extensively (95%) across the U.S. and be away for long periods.
Previous experience in project coordination, field supervision, or construction site management is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
Salary is $70K - 80K depending on experience.
