Job Description

This position requires your presence at our office in Albany, NY. Please note that we do not offer relocation assistance. We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Bookkeeper to oversee the financial records and transactions of our law firm. The perfect candidate will possess expertise in law firm accounting and excel at ensuring adherence to trust accounting and other financial regulations specific to the legal field. Compensation: $22.50 - $25 hourly Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions, including payments, invoices, and deposits.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Assist with client billing, including generating invoices and tracking payments.
  • Ensure compliance with trust accounting regulations and maintain accurate client trust account records.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with the firm's management and external accountants as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a law firm or similar professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of legal trust accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with legal billing systems and practices (a plus).
  • Pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.
