Bookkeeper | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Mattawan seeking Bookkeepers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable for raw materials, supplies, and operational expenses.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing for manufactured goods and collections.
• Perform accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of manufacturing costs.
• Assist with inventory valuation and tracking of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Process payroll for all company employees, including hourly production staff.
• Prepare basic financial statements such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Proven experience with cost accounting principles relevant to manufacturing, such as inventory valuation, work-in-progress, and COGS.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations.
• Minimum 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, with a strong preference for background in the manufacturing sector.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing-specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP Business One, Epicor, NetSuite).
• Familiarity with inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, weighted-average) in a production environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles (e.g., job costing, standard costing).
• Ability to analyze production variances and contribute to cost control efforts.
