Bookkeeper | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $46,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments for materials and services.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing customers for manufactured goods and following up on collections.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Process payroll for manufacturing staff, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and generate basic financial statements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Demonstrated understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and job costing in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and support month-end/year-end close processes.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.

Bonus Qualifications

• Exposure to cost accounting principles or inventory valuation methods.
• Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Familiarity with manufacturing-specific financial reporting or analysis.
• Experience supporting budgeting or forecasting processes.
