Job Description

Chief Financial Officer - Leica Biosystems Leica Biosystems is a global leader in cancer diagnostics, committed to advancing diagnostic confidence and improving lives. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic direction for Leica Biosystems and lead the global Finance and Information Technology (IT) functions. As a key member of the Operating Company leadership team, the CFO will help define and execute the overall business strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term growth and operational goals. This executive will be responsible for financial planning, accounting, statutory compliance, and reporting, as well as overseeing the deployment and optimization of IT tools and resources across the organization. The CFO will serve as a critical business partner to the President, with a primary focus on enabling and accelerating profitable growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in financial oversight across diverse global business areas, including commercial operations, manufacturing and supply chain, product development and R&D, and corporate reporting. They must be adept at leading within the Danaher Business System (DBS), driving process improvements across geographies and functions. Additionally, the CFO will be expected to evaluate and evolve the global Finance and IT functions to ensure they operate efficiently, cost-competitively, and with the highest standards of integrity and service quality. A key priority will be strengthening organizational capability by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent across both functions, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities + Strategic Leadership + Partner with the President and L1 team to define and execute the company's strategic direction. + Lead the development of annual operating plans, budgets, and financial targets aligned with long-term business goals. + Influence key business decisions through financial insights and scenario planning. + Financial Oversight + Oversee global financial planning, reporting, compliance, and statutory requirements. + Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. + Maintain and enhance internal controls and capital governance across the organization. + Operational Excellence + Drive process improvements and margin expansion using DBS tools and methodologies. + Lead initiatives in cost management, pricing strategy, product costing, and manufacturing productivity. + Evaluate and implement best-in-class financial systems and IT tools to support business agility. + Team Development + Build and develop a high-performing global Finance & IT organization. + Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous learning. + Coach and mentor leaders across finance and IT functions to ensure succession readiness. + M&A and Growth Enablement + Support M&A activities including financial diligence, integration planning, and ROI analysis. + Collaborate with Danaher and platform leadership to evaluate strategic investments and partnerships. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred. + 20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in global, complex organizations. + Proven success in leading finance across commercial, manufacturing, R&D, and corporate functions. + Experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams. + Deep understanding of US GAAP, ERP systems, and financial controls. + Demonstrated ability to drive profitable growth and operational transformation. + Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills. + Life Sciences, Diagnostics, or Healthcare industry experience highly desirable. Salary Range The salary range for this role is $217,200.00 to $325,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
