Job Description
The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and ensuring that the bank's operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This individual will lead a team that works closely with various departments to identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance, monitor regulatory changes, and ensure the organization remains up-to-date with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Oversight :
Develop, implement, and maintain the bank's compliance program to ensure adherence to all relevant local, national, and international regulations.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the bank's policies and procedures are updated to comply with new legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all activities and functions of the bank comply with the regulations set forth by agencies such as the Federal Reserve, SEC, FDIC, and other governing bodies.
Risk Management :
Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
Work with senior management to ensure that the appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
Develop, review, and enforce procedures to minimize exposure to compliance risks.
Internal Audits & Reporting :
Regularly audit internal practices and operations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Collaboration & Communication :
Collaborate with departments (e.g., Legal, Risk, Operations) to develop and refine compliance policies and procedures.
Desirable Attributes:
5+ years of compliance and risk experience.
Ability to communicate complex regulatory matters in a clear, concise manner.
Proactive, self-driven, and able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple compliance tasks simultaneously.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field.
