Responsibilities include visiting construction sites to perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections to ensure erosion and sediment control elements are installed and functioning properly. A summary report, including photographs of deficient areas and systems, is required at the end of each inspection on the same date that the inspection was performed. Candidates may perform SWPPP inspections at various sites through Virginia. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for a new graduate with interests in geology, geotechnical engineering, and construction project management looking to start their career with a stable, growing company. Experience is preferred, but we will accept entry level candidates and provide training!

Successful candidates MUST have:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or similar degree preferred but not required
• SWPPP certification and plus, but not required. Candidates must be able to obtain their DEQ SWPPP certification within 2 weeks of their start date.
• Own a reliable vehicle, have a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record
• Enjoy working outdoors
• Ability to work alone as well as in a group setting

This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering and walking along difficult terrain. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds; and occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).

Compensation is paid on an hourly basis. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Your time is measured from the time you arrive at the office in the morning to the time you leave the office in the evening, excluding any time for lunch. Travel mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate (currently $0.65 per mile) for travel from office to job site and back to office. GTA OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PLAN TOO!
