Digital Communications and Marketing Specialist Location Hybrid remote in Baltimore, MD : The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Digital Communications and Marketing Specialist to join the Communications Team. This position is responsible for creating thoughtful and engaging cross-platform digital content; developing and implementing digital marketing strategies; and monitoring the impact of digital communications and marketing efforts. This is a full-time, hybrid (2 days a week in the office or other JHU locations) post based in Baltimore with occasional travel to our new campus at 555 Penn, Washington DC. This person will report to the Communications and Marketing Manager and work closely with the Communications Associate. The successful candidate will be fluent in writing and adapting written content for digital platforms, as well as in developing visual and multimedia content. They will be collaborative and team-oriented, yet able to work independently to advance the strategic communications and marketing goals for the department. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain a digital content calendar that is aligned with Communications Team's editorial calendar and aimed at reaching diverse audiences, including prospective students, alumni, public health researchers, partner organizations and policymakers, among others. Create compelling written, visual and multimedia content, tailored for various digital platforms (website, social media channels, newsletters and others). Maintain the HPM website, including drafting, posting, and removing outdated content, while implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices. Manage HPM social media accounts with a focus on growing followers and engagement. Produce email campaigns and newsletters. Manage newsletter distribution lists. Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns to raise awareness of HPM. Monitor and report analytics from all communications channels to inform content strategy, including website, social media, newsletter, and others. Stay abreast of relevant health policy news, developments, and events to inform content strategy. Stay abreast of digital communications and marketing tools and trends to maximize efficiency and impact of efforts. Actively contribute to communications and marketing strategy discussions. Ensure all digital communications and marketing efforts comply with the University Branding Guidelines of JHU Use of Name Guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in web content management systems (i.e. WordPress, Drupal, HubSpot, etc.). Experience using CRM email platforms (MailChimp, Constant Contact, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.). Experience with Google Analytics. Experience with design software/programs (i.e., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, iMovie, etc.) Experience with project management systems (Microsoft Teams Planner, Asana, AirTable, etc.) Familiarity with Associated Press style. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field. Two years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Effective project and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to shifting deadlines and priorities. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically in problem-solving and project implementation. Experience managing Google AdWords grants.
