Job Description: Economic Consulting Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Economic Consulting Associate to join our consulting team. In this role you will work closely with clients to provide economic insights develop advanced models and craft strategic recommendations to address complex business and policy challenges. You will lead components of client projects manage datadriven analyses and contribute to delivering impactful solutions across various industries including finance healthcare technology and public policy.
Key Responsibilities: Economic Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Lead the development of economic analyses and strategies tailored to clients business and policy needs.
- Design and implement economic models forecasts and simulations to analyze trends evaluate policy impacts and assess market conditions.
- Use quantitative and qualitative methods to interpret economic data and provide actionable recommendations.
Data Collection Analysis and Reporting:
- Oversee the collection cleaning and analysis of large datasets from public and proprietary sources to support client engagements.
- Utilize advanced statistical and econometric tools to identify patterns relationships and trends within datasets.
- Prepare detailed reports dashboards and presentations that translate complex economic data into clear clientready insights.
Market Research and Assessment:
- Conduct indepth research on industry trends market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- Evaluate the economic implications of changes in market conditions public policy or regulatory environments.
- Provide benchmarking analyses and strategic advice to help clients improve their market position and operational efficiency.
Policy and Regulatory Impact Analysis:
- Analyze the economic impacts of regulatory changes public policies and legislative developments on clients industries.
- Conduct costbenefit analyses to assess the effectiveness of proposed policies or business initiatives.
- Advise clients on strategies to navigate complex regulatory environments and optimize their business outcomes.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with senior consultants to ensure alignment between project deliverables and client objectives.
- Participate in and lead components of client meetings workshops and presentations providing clear and compelling economic insights.
- Build strong client relationships by delivering highquality work and maintaining a focus on their strategic goals.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Mentor and guide junior analysts ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work.
- Manage components of projects including timelines deliverables and resource allocation.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools methodologies and best practices to enhance the firms capabilities.
Research and Thought Leadership:
- Stay informed about emerging economic trends policy changes and innovative analytical methodologies.
- Conduct research to identify opportunities for clients to address challenges and seize opportunities in dynamic market environments.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by preparing white papers case studies and client presentations.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
- Bachelors degree in Economics Finance Business Statistics or a related field (required).
- Advanced degree (e.g. Masters in Economics Public Policy or related field) or certifications (e.g. CFA) are preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 3 5 years of experience in economic consulting business strategy policy analysis or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering successful client projects with measurable outcomes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills with proficiency in statistical and econometric tools (e.g. Stata R Python SAS).
- Strong knowledge of macroeconomic and microeconomic concepts and their application in business and policy contexts.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex economic data and strategic recommendations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
