Food Prep/Production Kitchen

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to menu planning. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and have a keen interest in culinary arts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and measuring food items as per recipes.
• Assist in the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring that meals are prepared according to dietary guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food is handled and stored correctly.
• Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to support menu planning and execution.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
• Help in the presentation of dishes to ensure they meet quality standards before serving.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary guidelines is essential.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are advantageous.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are necessary for success in this role.
• A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary skills will be highly valued.
