THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will provide you with extremely valuable business analysis and leadership experience, extensive variety, and frequent exposure to all levels of management and staff in the Employment Development Department (EDD), Information Technology Branch (ITB)? The EDD is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the State Disability Insurance Applications section as an IT Analyst.

This position reports to the SDI Online Manager and performs a wide range of analytical responsibilities on various projects in support of the State Disability Insurance applications. The IT Specialist I defines and develops system and/or software requirements, develops and/or updates technical documentation and implementation plans, and applies industry standards, principles, methods, and techniques to manage a project through all phases of the SDLC. The incumbent will work with developers to create business requirements for any disability application and process flow related changes, identify testing scenarios, write test scripts, review and troubleshoot identified defects.

The successful candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines, and can work independently.

This position is in the heart of downtown Sacramento at EDD's headquarters office at 751 N St, Sacramento and is eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change as business needs arise. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office on their assigned in-office days. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
