Job Summary

This position is responsible for the overall Quality and Process Control management effort at Dorman Products’ Dayton Parts business unit located in Durant, OK. The incumbent will manage resources to optimize manufacturing quality, product control, warranty reduction, and implementation of a standardized quality system.

Primary Duties

  • Daily leadership of the organization’s quality function by building a high-performance team.
  • Maintain a system of quality control procedures that assures compliance to our customers’ quality requirements. Be the key face for the organization with regulatory bodies.
  • Administer the internal quality auditing program.
  • Develop a proactive, structured, documented, and measurable response system to customer quality inquires and issues, as well as to internal stakeholder inquires.
  • Reduce customer complaints using a sense of urgency to attack and resolve product quality/reliability issues, specifically with a bias for individual accountability and action, as well as robust root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Design and deploy a Continuous Improvement culture across the organization
  • Plan, coordinate and direct all the company’s quality standards, processes and operations, directly and indirectly through subordinate professionals, to develop, qualify, implement, and control production processes for heavy duty suspension product.
  • Develop internal & external Quality reporting metrics focused on early recognition and corrective actions to issues, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Proven success in a medium size automotive supplier or aftermarket manufacturer preferred
  • Experience in implementing a standardized quality management system like ISO9000 / ITAF16949
  • Knowledge implementing Control Plans, Process Control, and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills required
  • Ability to lead employees to assure company goals and results are met
  • Highly effective collaborator with internal as well as external resources
  • High-level of personal accountability

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering discipline or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience with previous direct (hands-on) Quality Leadership experience in a supervisory role
