Job Description: Level 4 Network Engineer/Architect (Cisco ACI)

Client Location: Charlotte, NC

Work Location: 100% Remote (Must work EST hours)

Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire (Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship) Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Level 4 Network Engineer/Architect with expertise in Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) to design, deploy, and maintain advanced network solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ACI fabrics, including leaf-spine architectures, APIC controllers, and policy models. This role focuses on optimizing ACI performance, integrating it with existing infrastructures, and ensuring network security while meeting scalability and reliability requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Deployment:

    • Design and implement ACI fabrics, including leaf and spine architecture, and APIC controllers.
    • Integrate ACI with existing network infrastructures.
    • Develop and implement ACI network policies, including tenants, application profiles, endpoint groups (EPGs), bridge domains, and contracts.
  • Network Operations:

    • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components, such as routers, switches, and cables.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot ACI-related issues.
    • Implement security measures and ensure compliance within the ACI environment.
  • Collaboration and Training:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ACI with other IT systems and applications.
    • Provide training and support to network engineers and administrators on ACI best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Project Management:

    • Conduct project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons for network-related projects.
    • Manage initial access, data mapping, and transfer processes, while creating process documentation.
  • Testing and Feedback:

    • Test and troubleshoot installed systems, escalating technical issues as needed.
    • Provide feedback to product and professional services teams for product and process improvements.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of network engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on designing and deploying Cisco ACI.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco ACI, including APIC controllers, leaf-spine architecture, and ACI policy models.
  • Experience with network protocols and technologies such as IP, VLAN, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments.
