Job Description

We are looking for experienced lead technicians and technicians to join our team as OSP fiber technicians. This role involves splicing fiber optic cables in various environments, including aerial, underground, indoor, and outdoor settings. Candidates should be comfortable working in the field, getting hands-on, and adapting to changing project needs, including travel when required.

Lead technicians must be hustlers, ready to put in the work and get their hands dirty. They should have strong experience in splicing, working with Fujikura equipment, and using fiber cartridges.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of loose tube and ribbon fiber optic cables

• Conduct ring-cuts, mid-span entrances, buffer tube splitting, and other fiber splicing tasks

• Install fiber optic enclosures, electronics, and network equipment

• Test and troubleshoot fiber networks using OTDRs and power meters

• Route, splice, and terminate fiber in central offices, hub sites, or buildings

• Work at heights in a bucket truck (30-40 feet)

• Deploy backup power generators at remote sites as needed

• Read design maps, fiber schematics, and basic electronic layouts

• Complete required documentation such as timesheets, truck reports, and expense reports

• Be available for on-call rotations, emergency restorations, and occasional overtime or weekend work

• Perform construction-related tasks, including pulling cables, climbing ladders, digging, and using hand tools

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• Lead technicians must be hardworking, experienced, and comfortable leading by example

• Minimum of two years of fiber splicing experience for technicians

• Experience using Fujikura fusion splicers and fiber cartridges

• Strong understanding of fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting

• Ability to distinguish colors for fiber identification

• Ability to lift and move materials or equipment up to 80 pounds

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

• Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Compensation & Benefits:

• Lead Technician: $27/hr. - $30/hr.

• Technician: $22/hr. - $25/hr.
