We are seeking highly skilled, dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team. PRN/RN nurses provide exceptional nursing care to patients across various units and departments within our healthcare facility. As a Registered Nurse in our surgery center, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care throughout their surgical journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care plans for assigned patients based on their individual needs and requirements.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies accurately and in a timely manner as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate medical staff.
• Provide compassionate and patient-centered care, ensuring comfort, dignity and emotional support.
• Educate patients and their families regarding their conditions, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Accurately document all nursing interventions, patient responses, and relevant information in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain and enhance nursing knowledge and skills.
• Preoperative Care: Assess patients before surgery, review medical histories, and prepare them for the procedure, ensuring they understand the process.
• Intraoperative Support: Assist the surgical team during procedures by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring a sterile environment.
• Postoperative Care: Monitor patients in the recovery room, provide post-anesthesia care, and manage pain and discomfort.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on postoperative care instructions and recovery expectations.
• Medication Management: Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed and maintain accurate documentation.
• Infection Control: Strictly adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any medical emergencies that may arise during surgery or recovery.
• Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining high standards of care and patient safety in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound clinical decisions.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Prior experience in a surgical center, operating room, or critical care setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
