Job title: Scrum Master
Location: Newark, NJ

Job summary:

Looking for a Scrum Master with a deep understanding of the Agile Framework and experience in facilitating and enabling agile practices within a team environment. The Scrum Master will work closely with the Software Engineering team and the various Product Teams and will be responsible for educating them on Agile principles and best practices, along with maximizing productivity, and achieve committed Product Increment objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Scrum Events:  Organize and facilitate key Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective meetings.
• Coach the Team:  Provide guidance and coaching to team members, helping them adopt and improve Agile practices and Scrum principles.
• Remove Impediments:  Identify and help remove obstacles or impediments that the team faces, helping to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Support Product Owner:  Assist the Product Owner with backlog grooming and prioritization to ensure the team’s work aligns with business goals.
• Ensure Continuous Improvement:  Promote a culture of continuous improvement by driving reflection and process adaptation within the team, ensuring they learn from each Sprint and evolve.
• Monitor Team Progress:  Track and report on the team's progress toward sprint goals, velocity, and other relevant metrics, and provide feedback to the team for improvement.
• Foster Team Collaboration:  Build a collaborative, open, and inclusive team culture, encouraging communication, trust, and collaboration between team members and stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Communication:  Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, goals, and expectations. Provide regular updates on team progress, challenges, and improvements.
• Maintain Scrum Artifacts:  Ensure that Scrum artifacts (Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Burndown charts) are up to date and visible to the team and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other relevant Agile certifications preferred.
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies (especially Scrum).
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and executives.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to remove blockers and encourage creative solutions.
• Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with a passion for fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with using Jira as the Agile project management tool.
