This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.Are you looking for a career advancement? The Records Security and Identification Unit (RSIU) is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical, and dependable team player who is committed to providing extraordinary customer service. Under the general direction of the Manager I, DMV, the Senior Motor Vehicle Technician (SMVT) is responsible for effectively interpreting law and analyzing driver record printouts; determining licensing eligibility; updating various data into appropriate databases; and initiating corrections to driver license records. The incumbent is responsible for performing quality assessment of staff's processed work to ensure completeness according to written guidelines; purging criteria and departmental procedures; processing transactions with multiple subjects on the driver license record; combining and de-combining records; issuing new numbers for reasons of religion or fraud; and responding to telephone and written inquiries from customers, DMV field offices, headquarters units, courts, and law enforcement agencies. The SMVT is also responsible for preparing fraud packages for investigators; preparing administrative action packages for driver safety review unit; processing applications via Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Virtual Field Office (VFO); and providing guidance and direction while serving as an expert resource to staff and management.
