Senior Project Accountant (semi-remote)

Hugely successful Manhattan based real estate development and construction firm is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to handle the accounting and reporting for several large-scale development projects (budgets $150 million +). The ideal candidate will possess the skills and savvy to be an important contributor to the firm’s accounting process. Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the proper and continuous flow of day-to-day accounting activities for major development projects.
• Track and update ACR (anticipated cost report).
• Attended pencil requisition meetings with the general contractor/subcontractors and the development team.
• Process and review all subcontractors AIA billing for accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers and perform project setup in Yardi accounting system.
• Manage job cost reporting and analysis.
• Review and interpret contracts, change orders, subcontractor documents, payment terms, insurance, lien waivers and bond requirements.
• Assist with year-end audit and provide supporting documentation as requested.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in construction or development firms.
• Working knowledge of relevant software including Yardi.Bottom of Form, Timberline, Procore, etc.
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
• Be able to multi-task and be a team player.

Salary (Commensurate with experience level): $120,000 – 140,000 plus bonus, comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental and vision), 401k match and many other valuable perks.
