Job Description

GovStaff is seeking a Senior Level, TS cleared, Cisco Network Engineer for a key permanent long-term job opening in Quantico, VA. Due to the secure nature of the responsibilities, this position is fully onsite in Quantico and candidates must have SD-WAN experience to be considered.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring mission-critical network operations, and supporting both enterprise and deployable tactical environments.

The Senior Network Engineer will provide architectural leadership, oversee complex network integration, and ensure reliable connectivity for FBI operations worldwide. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco environments, Cisco SD-WAN, and Linux-based solutions , along with proven management experience.

Required Qualifications

· Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI (polygraph may be required).

·5+ years of experience in network design, architecture, and support in Cisco and Linux environments.

· Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS/NX-OS, OSPF, BGP, and network routing protocols.

· Proven experience with Cisco DNA Center and enterprise Cisco tools .

· Hands-on experience engineering and deploying secure network infrastructure for enterprise facilities and field/tactical operations.

· Management/leadership experience, with the ability to lead small teams.

· Experience supporting high-latency networks (satellite/cellular broadband).

· Proficiency with VMware Virtualization.

· Current CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP Enterprise (Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise) or equivalent certification.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Access Control Systems.
  • Strong familiarity with network analysis/management tools and techniques.
  • Background in supporting federal/DoD environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal integration engineer for LAN, MAN, and WAN environments, including planning, design, installation, maintenance, and management.
  • Lead technical, architectural, and engineering changes to enterprise networks.
  • Engineer, configure, troubleshoot, and support Cisco and Linux-based routing solutions.
  • Design and implement new solutions and technologies based on emerging requirements.
  • Review and recommend hardware, software, and telecommunications purchases.
  • Recommend network architecture improvements to enhance performance and security.
  • Develop detailed network design diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Act as the technology lead for network and security platforms.
  • Perform and support security audits, assessments, design, and configuration.
  • Provide technical vision for the deployment of network and security technologies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and contractors to address security requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and test new and existing security solutions.
  • Serve as a Tier 4 escalation resource for complex network issues.
  • Install, configure, and operate networks in complex environments with specialized protocols.
  • Plan, design, implement, test, and support network solutions across multiple platforms.
