Job Description

(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Surgical Services - The position is responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and|or storing procedure trays, surgical trays and equipment. Also assembles, distributes and|or delivers disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts and supplies to fill the needs of the Operating Room, Nursing Units, Ancillary Departments and SCL Clinics.

1. Operates and monitors sterilization equipment.

2. Prioritizes daily tasked based on interpretation of surgical schedule, determining the requirement for instruments for each surgical case.

3. Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination.

4. Sterilizes, disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, maintains records for all instruments and transports sterilized items to the floor.

5. Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and|or impairment. Properly checks power equipment .etc. BLS|BCLS certification required
