POSITION SUMMARY

The Truss Assembler/Builder with CDL is primarily responsible for assembling cut material into floor and roof trusses to specification. The position may also be responsible for pulling plates, stacking of finished product, banding and marking materials, and pushing product on carts to appropriate areas. This position will also be responsible for covering the responsibilities of the Truck Driver position, as needed. When covering for the Truck Driver position, this position is responsible for loading and unloading the truck, as well as driving and delivering within a 5-hour radius.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret work orders and production schedules (typed, handwritten, electronic).
• Pull plates.
• Place cut material and plates per specification.
• Connect plates with the use of hammer and/or press.
• Lift and stack product off lumber carts, band and mark product, and push/pull product on carts to designated areas.
• Assist with routine cleaning of equipment and work area.
• Report any equipment and product deficiencies to Lead.

• Comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies and procedures.

• Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.

• Must be able to lift heavy material.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, and stoop throughout shift.
• Must be able to grasp, finger, and feel frequently throughout shift.
• Ability to work well with diverse groups or individuals.
• Must be able to read a tape measurer.
• Valid CDL - Class A
• Clean Driving Record
• Current Medical DOT Health Card

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
