Job Description:

ZTI is seeking a senior-level UI/UX Designer to develop DoD-themed web pages (e.g., Landing Page, User Upload Page, Admin Dashboard ) that seamlessly integrate with a React-based frontend . This role supports a high-visibility DoD Data Pipeline project and requires expertise in user research, interface design, and front-end collaboration .

The ideal candidate will have 11-13 years of experience in UI/UX design, user-centered methodologies, and enterprise application development within DoD or government environments . This is a temp-to-hire position with the potential for long-term placement based on performance and mission needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and develop DoD-themed, mission-critical UI/UX components that enhance user experience.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for key Data Pipeline web pages ( Landing Page, User Upload Page, Admin Dashboard ).
• Ensure UI/UX designs integrate seamlessly with React-based frontend applications .
• Apply 508 compliance and WCAG accessibility standards to ensure usability for all users.
• Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to refine interface workflows.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable UI components .
• Work closely with frontend developers, security teams, and data engineers to optimize system usability.
• Participate in Agile development processes , including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications:

• 11-13 years of experience in UI/UX design , with a focus on DoD, government, or mission-critical systems .
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field .
• Active Secret Clearance required .
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch , or equivalent design tools.
• Strong experience designing enterprise web applications with React-compatible UI components .
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript , and UI frameworks that support React-based applications .
• Deep understanding of DoD UI/UX branding standards, 508 compliance, and accessibility requirements .
• Experience developing wireframes, prototypes, and user journey flows for iterative design improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile environments .
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with React component libraries (e.g., Material UI, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS ).
• Primary experience using Linux based operating systems.
• Experience designing dashboards and data visualization tools for data-heavy applications.
• Prior experience in DoD, intelligence, or defense-related UI/UX projects .
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in DoD web applications.
• Ability to conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and user acceptance testing (UAT) .
