Senior UX Designer – E-reader Products

$127,100–$211,600

Seattle, WA (Hybrid or Remote)

Amazon is hiring a Senior UX Designer to shape the future of Kindle E-readers, with a focus on Kindle Scribe and new, emerging reading and writing experiences. You’ll work across hardware surfaces and digital interfaces, translating complex interactions into simple, elegant designs used by millions of readers worldwide. This is a highly cross-functional role partnering with product, engineering, research, and senior leadership.

What you’ll do

• Create user-centred designs, workflows, and interaction patterns for Kindle Scribe
• Translate insights from research, metrics, and customer feedback into design decisions
• Produce wireframes, visual mocks, user flows, prototypes, and detailed UI specs
• Lead design reviews and communicate concepts to stakeholders and executives
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to shape requirements
• Define and maintain design patterns across Kindle experiences
• Work across hardware and digital surfaces for cohesive multi-device experiences

What you’ll need

• 6+ years’ professional UX/UI/Product Design experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, and visual design
• Experience designing for complex workflows or multi-surface experiences
• Ability to present and defend design decisions at all stakeholder levels
• Expertise with prototyping tools, wireframing, and high-fidelity design
• Ability to move from concept to shipped product autonomously

Nice to have

• Experience designing for hardware + software ecosystems
• Background in e-readers, note-taking tools, or productivity software

Salary

$127,100–$211,600 base.
