About the Role We are seeking a Business Process Consultant to support brand product development within the healthcare category, focusing on Over-The-Counter (OTC) consumable and non-consumable products. This role is with a leading U.S. retailer known for its innovative approach to consumer goods and commitment to quality. As a contractor, you will work closely with product development scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure specifications and standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
Job Description In this role, you will manage data and drive collaboration to support the development of healthcare products. Initial responsibilities will be heavily focused on data management within the internal Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to ensure all owned-brand OTC products have complete and approved specifications. You will also contribute to end-to-end product development processes, including:
- Conducting product and market research
- Developing specifications and standards
- Coordinating with vendors and setting up sample reviews
- Assessing samples according to review phase guidelines
- Tracking quality improvements and guest review assessments
- Maintaining compliance with safety, testing, and legal requirements
Core responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.
Qualifications Required: - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
- 1–5+ years of relevant experience in product development or formulation
- Experience with food, formulated, nutraceutical, or chemical products
- Proficiency with PLM systems for managing product specifications
- Knowledge of consumer product safety, testing, and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of product manufacturing processes (CPG experience preferred)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Experience performing sensory evaluations and providing feedback
- Ability to communicate technical and business details across teams
- Proven ability to maintain relationships and hold partners accountable
- Commitment to confidentiality and security of proprietary product information
Preferred: - Master’s degree in a related discipline
- Experience in large-scale retail or consumer packaged goods environments
