Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer II SETA to assist in the research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and can work independently and in dynamic, fast -paced team environments. This is a full time – position at on site Government facility in Arlington, VA. Occasional telecommuting is a possibility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Conceive, plan and conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity that will require unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques
Apply programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and apply modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting
Contribute to the four functional areas (Intelligence and Mission Capabilities, Architecture, Applications, and Mission Integration) utilizing prior experience using advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices. Each candidate shall have at least five (5) years of extensive experience, background and knowledge of the corresponding functional area
Interface with a variety of audiences to include internal and external Government and Military leadership and stakeholders across all services through verbal, written and presented communications.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in relevant environment
Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer required
Background in areas such as engineering, scientific research, or program management
Must have an active US Government TS Clearance with SCI eligibility. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Adobe PDF
